Sun Mountain Farm was our second "you pick" farm of the day. It truly is up on a hill, and is a lovely spot to pick apples. The parking is somewhat limited, but we had no trouble getting a spot (it started filling up shortly after we arrived). They also have several picnic tables available for customers to stop and enjoy the lovely spot. Instead of paying per pound, you pay per bag, and they offer a variety of sizes and prices (which, brilliantly, I forgot to record, but I'm sure I didn't pay more than $5 for the smallest sized bag, and got a good amount of applies for that price). Once you pay for and pick up your bag, you're free to pack it as tightly as you wish. They had several verities of apples ready for picking, but we went for the Rome(?) apples (the owner recommended them as his favorite). Later that week, I used these apples to make a special dessert, and they were amazing baked. I found the recipe on my friend's Jane Austen/Regency business' site: http://www.thitherjaneausten.com/festooned-apples. If you love Jane Austen, I highly recommend checking out this site (and, yes, Hannah and I are both models on her site, along with Hannah's husband, our brother, and a number of friends - it's so fun having creative and entrepreneurial friends!!)
