It was clear from the moment we drove up that this must be a popular spot - it was by far the most crowded place we went to all day. This farm is one of the oldest of the Apple Hill farms, and has an extensive orchard with a number of varieties of apples to pick, and it must be this feature that draws the crowds. So, for the first time in all our years of going to Apple Hill - we got to pick our own apples!
Farm #8 - Denver Dan's Apple Patch (#14) http://www.denverdansapplepatch.com/ It was clear from the moment we drove up that this must be a popular spot - it was by far the most crowded place we went to all day. This farm is one of the oldest of the Apple Hill farms, and has an extensive orchard with a number of varieties of apples to pick, and it must be this feature that draws the crowds. So, for the first time in all our years of going to Apple Hill - we got to pick our own apples! We saw lots of families out there with their buckets picking their apples, and the prices weren't too bad, around $1/pound. There is also a large bake shop/gift shop on site which offers lots of goodies. We didn't purchase any, but their menu looked pretty delicious. As we drove away, we saw more parts of the orchard we wish we had gone to, so this is likely to be added to our family's trips to Apple Hill in the future.
